Raw cards?

Are raw cards worth the risk? would board members spend $1000.00 on a raw card . Why would a dealer not get it slabbed if he could make more $. Is there any legit raw dealers left?Would you take a chance on a raw Mantle,Palko,Mathews,Ruth,Cobb etc..

There are many legit raw sellers. My favorite is "Mickey's Sportscards." You can also find several legit raw sellers on eBay, just proceed with caution.
Too much risk there.

At the $1 000 level probably not. For $100 to $500 it could be. A 52 Topps Pafko described as Ex, but only grade PSA 1 or 2. Depending on the reason for the low grade, a buyer might still not have a problem splitting the middle on the price
For a card with creases, rounded corners, pinhole, paper loss, etc, if it is a reputable dealer, you know what you're getting, so is it really taking a risk, even for a lot of money?

I would take a chance with those other guys that you mentioned, but there is no way that I would buy a Tyler Palko card unless it was slabbed.
Collecting: Topps 1952-79, Bowman 1952-55, OPC 1965-71, and Pre-War White Sox cards
Who is Tyler Pafko???
1 1 16189335 EXCELLENT-MINT 6 1953 TOPPS 82 MICKEY MANTLE Card US
yeah baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There are folks out there for sure that try to purposely decieve the buyer and then there are guys like me that we possibly may have a trimmed card unawre to us that we could sell however if we stand behind what we sell (Refund) we should not be put on a DO NOT BUY FROM HIM LIST.
Yes there are good raw card sellers out there and I would have to bet that the majority of them are oldsters like me.

Kiss me twice.....let's party.
On ebay, my tolerance is like $200 (for a single card) with good scans. $75 or so with a mediocre scan/pic.

PS.
$1000 just cause a card is #1 in a set???
The '52 Pafko and the R319 ('33 Goudey) Bengough in less than NRMT........... are the most overrated cards in the hobby! (besides the '52T Mantle)
The premium is ONLY because of the higher chance a #1 will receive wear in the shoebox they were stored in (or rubber banded). Why are you clowns paying a premium for a #1 card in EX or VG??? Makes no sense. its a common.
