So, if I sell today, should a dealer give ME 12.5 X face to be a fare deal ?
To bad silver isn't hitting all time highs like gold.

I'd say somewhere between 12 and 12.5 times face. I use 17.56 X .70 to get just about what a good dealer would pay which is 12.292 with that ratio.

Nope, 12.5x face is the retail rate, dealers buy at wholesale (i.e. closer to 10x face).

Actually, my local dealer is currently buying at 11.5 times face and selling at 12.5 times face.

I saw a small jewelery shop place with a buy rate of 7x last weekend!
On the positive side they were selling halves for 10x face

Northwest Territorial Mint is buying at $12.21 per dollar face, but you have to have a minimum of $100 face.

There was a two page ad in the newspaper this week offering 3.5x for dimes, 4x for quarters and pre 1965 halves.
