Nice looking VF-35

braddick · October 17, 2009 8:39AM

Not a strong XF40?
I think so.

VF30 obverse, VF35 reverse. Grade: VF30.

VF - if it's real.

VF if it's not real, too.

dcarr · October 17, 2009 9:30AM

Looks like an excellent original.
Regardless of the technical grade, I think it is worth EF-45 money.

I think you're right. Here's a 40 that's not as nice as this one.

Post of the day!

Nice VF, but the surfaces are suspiciously pristine. TDN suggests the right question.

ziggy29 · October 17, 2009 10:09AM

VF-30, and yes, the surfaces look suspiciously choice, original and problem-free as very few seated dollars are.

I'd be curious to see if the surfaces look this good with the coin in hand, or if they look original. And if it's raw, it's another thing to be concerned with.

speety · October 18, 2009 3:05PM

Surfaces for that grade seem a little too nice, be careful with very good tooling on seated dollars. I was fooled on one of my early purchases, a raw XF 1842.

Congrats! I've received nothing but cleaned, retoned crap from this company. They are quick to refund your money though.
