There is a fascinating, albeit extremely elusive, 'double cud' in Realone's series. It is the 1835 LM-5.2 VLDS, with an obverse cud above the cap to the rim, and a reverse cud at D STATES. Although this cud is illustrated in the Logan/McCloskey book, the whereabouts of the plate coin are unknown, and no other example has ever surfaced. In our joint article about cuds on Capped Bust half dimes, published in the John Reich Journal, neither Dr. Glenn Peterson nor myself owned an example, the only cud we both were missing. That would certainly be one to look for.

I will have to dust off the one I was able to find. It's not really an interesting Cud, but it does go into the field a little!
