Guy started it at $10k for the case. I informed him of actual prices and he said these are hard to find. Then raised it by 2k. I emailed again and offered to sell him all he wants for $200 plus ship and he raised his by another 2k. lol

I wouldn't trust the guy.
**If every other card in the case was a Bill Ripken error would it have a value of $14,000?
He forgot to mention Chris Sabo RC's. And not to mention Griffey, if you were to pull 3 you'd easily double your money. Is Hal Morris's RC included in '89 Fleer?

$14,000.00 for a case. You can buy as many as you want for $175.00. This is one of the craziest I ever saw! LOL
Edited to post the email I just sent to him:
Hi,
I see that you have a 1989 Fleer wax case for sale. I might be interested, but I think you made a mistake in the price. Did you mean for the sales price to be $140.00??? In case you did not realize, you have it listed for $14,000.00, which is almost 100 times what it is worth. Let me know. Thanks.

We can agree to save it for 650 years when inflation has made it "worth" what we paid.

they must have changed how that works then - didn't the fees used to go up as the start price did?
<< <i>I sent him a polite email asking if he accidentally added a few extra zeros and gave him a link to BBCE's $175 cases. >>
Haha dude's probably never had this many questions about an item before.

It does/did. Maybe they have some special going on as I just made a mock listing and got the .35 price.
<< <i>He responded that he was willing to sell me the case for just $10,500. I politely responded that I had just found an identical case on another website for $140, and thanked him for his time.
Man, that is cruel. Probably called up the wife and told her he had an offer for $10,000 on the case and she could get those new mudflaps for the ATV after all.

Don't feel bad for the guy. He's got some Hillbilly folk music (his own words) that could fetch a pretty penny.

"Nice case! You are low though. That case should sell all day long at 16-18K. If I only had 14K, Id buy it and flip it to make a couple of grand. Good luck on your sale."
Wow, you're selling this awfully cheap- this is THE set of the '80s. I had a box, just ONE box that sold for $2800 about a year ago...
<< <i>Storm888 says eventually somebody will buy their item at the advertised price and I agree with this statement. But I have to wonder, if this seller of the case of 1989 Fleer Baseball is the exception to the rule.

Other than the rule that "everybody eventually croaks," about
each and every "rule" carries some exception baggage.
IF the subject case was in the $400 to $800 range, it is more
than likely true that "eventually" it would sell on EBAY.
At the current price, the exception applies.
