How Will E-Bay's New Top Rated Seller Program...

affect your e-bay buying habits?

Will you bid more on a TRS's items?

Other thoughts?

moving further away from the customers this company first served: small time traders.

cost effectively trading beanie babies on eBay just got harder.

Not that I fully understand, but I thought this move was to help small time traders and level the playing field based on service etc not volume.

I am a TRS, and I don't see it impacting sales at all.

My only concern with regard to the TRS is when I sell. Other than that, I try to use my head for determining what or what not to bid on or buy.

There are just way too many variables involved for eBay to really categorize sellers as either god to deal with or bad t deal with. Usually, the bad news sellers have a wad of negs which help you make a determination. Right?

I mean, the shipping is right in the listing.

3 to 5 days delivery time. *Unless its registered but I rarely if ever buy anything which would require registered.)

    Return Policy/No return Policy.

All right there in the listing, what else is there James?
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

All I see is that when you are searching you will have to wade through all the Top Rated Sellers junk to find what you want from a real collector seller or small dealer that does not do thousands of dollars per month. There fixed Best Match search that you can not opt out of sees to that. I want to see the auctions ending soonest and have to reselect it every time. I don’t care what is ending in a month at 150% price list because they had to add in free shipping and 15% final value fees.
No they are not trying to help the collector.

It will save me some research of feedback to know I am buying from a reputable seller.

    Ditto here.
I used to be somebody, now I'm just a coin collector.

  • If you have trust in EBay you may take their word for it. That ribbon means nothing to me. If I see an item I want to place a bid on, I will do my own seller research. Ebay just keeps falling further and further into the black hole.

So how long before the TRS acronym becomes known as Top Rated Scammer instead of Top Rated Seller?
