I collect Luis Tiant. Great pitcher who is very underrated and deserved much more Hall of Fame consideration than he received.

JoeNuxhall. One of 2 autographs I wanted to get. (also Hank Aaron). I am not a fan of buying autos second hand, I prefer to say hello and get them in person. Sadly I never got to one of Joes signings. I am looking for his 1952 Topps card which is readily available. Problem is quality is too low or price is too high. Someday I will find a PSA 1 or 2 with decent eye appeal.

    GUILTY!

I believe when it comes to massive collections of ANY player that's basically worthless to 99% of the world, I might have one of the world's largest... if not THE world's largest.

I posted a thread a while back, but REALLY need to update it... honestly, it's WAY behind the times.
Just to give you a little taste of it's rediculousness, I just added GRADED cards #547 and 548 to my slabbed Sabo collection yesterday.
I'm sure there are TONS of player collections out there much more massive than 548 slabbed cards... but we're talking about Chris Sabo here. He has barely over 300 known/recognized cards in existence... though I have a few that aren't 'recognized' on any checklists.

The pile of raw is in the 45,000/50,000 count range at this piont.... haven't counted it, probably never will.

I will post an updated thread one of these days....

ALWAYS Looking for Chris Sabo cards!

I have a large Ron Gant collection, thousands of cards, game used uniforms, bats, helmets; posters; magazine covers; anything with Gant on it.

I also collect Ralph Sampson stuff. I was growing up in Virginia when Ralph was the man.

My main collection is Gary Carter, while a hall of famer he does not get a ton of hobby attention.

I used to live by Sid. He is a class act all the way. I once thought of having him sign a Stan Belinda card. Right after that debacle in 1992, I sold a rifle to Belinda.

p.s. I know. I know. Drabek is the one who walked Bream, but Belinda is a much better scapegoat.

Wow...this is great stuff folks! When I started this thread, I wondered if anyone would respond! I loved reading all of these answers!!!! For some reason, when a pitcher for the Mets named Anthony Young lost something like 27 consecutive games between 1992 and 1993, I started to buy a ton of his cards....obviously for cheap!!! image Finding all the cards of his that I have recently was another inspiration for this thread! image

One of my favorite players when I was younger was Steve Rogers of the Expos. I always routed for the underdogs , whoever they were . I'm collecting his cards as I am able. His cards are not a priority , but I have a few ( #1 Steve Rogers master set ).

I've collected some others as well . I have the all time Randy Jones (Padres ) master set and the all time Nate Colbert ( Padres ) basic set.

I also am piecing together both the Mario Mendoza ( already on the registry ) and the Ray Oyler sets .

Both of these guys were terrible hitters . Both were underdogs . Both made it and stayed in the majors , while millions of us who played as well , sat home. Their sets are a tribute to whatever they had , that we did not.
