Is there a non-superstar or common player that you collect???

I loved looking at the Phil Garner collection in another thread and was inspired to ask this question to the forum. Whose cards do you hold near and dear to your heart that maybe someone might even ask.....Who is that guy??????

He's got 3 cards, a world wide gum, '41 Team issue, and Worch Cigar. I've found 2, have not been able to locate the Worch Cigar.

<< <i>I'm mainly a Dodgers collector, but I'm slowly working on a Steve Garvey collection......His cards should be cheaper because he didn't even sniff the Hall Of Fame.

I remember as he was leaving the game, it almost seemed that his election to the hall was a formality (at least here in SD). Then never got close.

<< <i>No, I played football at James Madison University in VA during the same time period. He was the receiver who stripped the ball away from an Iowa LB after an interception to preserve the win. Every year he becomes famous during the week of the Iowa-Iowa St. game. We both work and live in Southern California now. >>

I remember that now. Very cool. Any player that beat Iowa is a hero in my book.

Haha, that made me laugh, no, I played waaaay after him. I played from 99-00 seasons. Even though I was a TE, I got to play against Va Tech and Mike Vick and Villonova and Westbrook...was a great experience.

My daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 2 (2003). My son was diagnosed with Type 1 when he was 17 on December 31, 2009. We were stunned that another child of ours had been diagnosed. Please, if you don't have a favorite charity, consider giving to the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation)

First pick for Boston in 1970, still holds the record for most playoff goals. Stanley Cup winner with the bullies from Broad Street.
I'm thinking the Hall of Fame is short by at least one.
I have thought about collecting Clint Barmes but for some reason officially collecting a current player makes me cringe. Too many expensive variations etc even for a non-collected player. I do however pick up Chris Carpenter cards when I see something I like.
In football I collect Champ Bailey rookie cards and his eTopps cards (I have over 50% of the print run of his eTopps card!).
