Picked up 1944 Merc and Silver(?) Earring

First thing I found was the earring. There are no markings, but it sure does look good! It looks like good quality, silver maybe, or even a very small chance at white gold. Bottom ring is broken... maybe I did that w/ my shovel. Update, looks to actually only be silver plated! Too bad, looked really nice too when it popped out of the ground.

Later picked up the 1944 merc. Seemed like I was digging forever to get to that thing. My guess is it was 7-9 inches down.
