OT - Lost a friend today.

I just got word a few hours ago that a friend and brother from my department died while diving off the coast of Gloucester, Mass. today. He was with 4 other firefighters from our department (one of them was his nephew). I dont know the particulars yet of what happend, but it appears to have been a medical issue.
He was married with 3 kids from ages 4 to 17. He was a dear friend and our families are close. He was in love with his family and the fire department. I just cannot believe its true.
Im at a loss for words, so I thought I might try to express it through here. Rest in peace Paul. My brother, my friend. You will be missed dearly.

I lost some brothers in my life, and I know what your going through.

Thanks for the kind words and thoughts everyone. It really does make a difference. Its going to be tough for a while with the funeral coming up. I spoke with his nephew last night. He was one of the guys with Paul when he was diving. We have been friends since we got on the fire department. He is my youngest daughters godfather, and I am his daughters godfather. He jumped on the arriving ambulance and assisted the crew in advanced life support.
Again, thanks everyone for the support. I will extend it to his family.
