Check out this die crack
Picked this up at the farmers market today. I thought it was a pretty cool die crack. I bet this was one of the last dimes struck. It is hard to see in the pick but the one side is elevated

I know that Fred W has these on his website for a few hundred dollars!
Unfortunately Fred's site doesn't seem to work for me right now, but maybe he'll chime in
Congrats again

I collect all 20th century series except gold including those series that ended there.
I recently bid on this one. But it went a bit higher than I expected.
You just do not see those every day! Great pickup Tydye!
If It doesn't sell in the final auction, it will be time for a giveaway..

<< <i>Here's a coin I couldn't even sell for $21 dollars last week.. I have already been called out as a spammer telling a few about it here on the forum. Funny, certain coins bring more than others..

Correcto Mundo! I went there last week and just yesterday got my system back online. The malware I picked up wanted to upgrade my Office 2003 which was able to delete some needed files from my windows system.
Yuck!
BTW, they were made aware of it and were working on a solution as several folks got hit.

<< <i>ok - JRocco wins. The die cracks almost look like part of the design element >>
I have been told by some guru's in this field that they used to bind the busted up dies
after they started to really fall apart to get an extra 1 or 2 strikings out of them.
This one may prove that.
Edited to add - this one is probably from the 1700's
when i louped the reverse i saw i nice pair of
die cracks coming off the bottom nobby of the torch
on either side. looks like cat whiskers i guess
I'd kinda like to see everybodies crack anyway!
