Here are some not so great shots of my most recent Morgan purchases.
As you may or may not know, I'm trying to attain a rim toned set of Morgan dollars.
I'm ten away from a complete set, but those 10 are the biggies so, I'm in no rush to finish this project.
Currently I'm upgrading some of my other, lesser toned/graded coins.

1879 is a hard one to find nicely toned...

Do you think that the rim toning is the product of being stored in a Dansco or album for a prolonged period?

I honestly don't know. None of my Morgans have ever been in albums...
Since these are PCGS/NGC holders, anything is possible.
I purchased these in the slabs & they were not submitted by me, so the previous owners could have had them in albums.
I do know that many of my ANACS holdered Morgans develop a rim toning due to the slab label/ink itself though I don't know how common that is.
