I am unsure exactly what a tiffany card is but i think i might have found one when I was going through my collection. Its of a 1989 topps kirby pucket and the card is in pretty good shape with the gloss still on the front. Notice the 2 shades of pink on the card. I believe the tiffany card is a white card stock as opposed to a brownish cardboard? If it is a tiffany, is this card worth getting graded? any help or info on what a tiffany card is would be very helpful. thanks!

What’s the difference between Topps and Topps Tiffany?
The difference between regular-issue Topps and Topps Tiffany is that Tiffany cards only came in factory-set form and have a glossy front (the reason they were given the nickname 'Tiffany'). Regular collectors (meaning kids) never really had Tiffany cards because they were only sold as a factory set and because they were much more expensive. Here are print runs, according to the SCD 2006 Standard Catalog:
1984: 10,000
1984 Traded: 10,000
1985: 5,000
1985 Traded: 10,000 (guess, based on SCD-reported value)
1986: 5,000
1986 Traded: 5,000 (guess, based on SCD-reported value)
1987: 30,000
1987 Traded: 30,000
1988: 25,000
1988 Traded: 25,000
1989: 25,000
1989 Traded: 15,000
1990: ? (though guess would be between 5,000 – 10,000, based on SCD-reported value)
1990 Traded: ? 25,000 (guess, based on SCD-reported value)
1991: 25,000 (guess, based on SCD-reported value)
1991 Traded: 10,000 to 15,000 (guess, based on SCD-reported value)
Because Tiffany cards are scarcer, they are more valuable. Of course, being officially sanctioned specialty parallel sets doesn't hurt their value either.

I would agree with what the previous poster said about the main difference being the glossy finish. To answer your other question about the card stock, I belive the stock is the same on the Topps regular issues and the Tiffany issues, but not sure about the other manufacturers. Some of the 80's Score issues have Tiffany parallels, and I believe Fleer does as well.
One other interesting note on Topps Tiffany- I would even go so far as to say that they were made at the same time. Another poster on a player registry thread recently suggested that printing flaws on a regular Topps issue would be the same as those on the Tiffany issue. I checked at least one and noticed they were the same.
Always buying Bobby Cox inserts. PM me.

As far as getting it graded, it depends on why you want to grade it. If its to resell, probably not a good idea as a 1989 Tiffany Kirby Puckett All Star doesn't have much value (unless it's a 10). If you want to get it graded for your own collection, then it's not a bad idea. In the end, it's up to you.

Thought that 87 was just an entire glossy set like Topps not an insert into packs like the 96 and 97 Fleer.
