i am beginning to see why people rely so much on the slabs, a little more time spent educating themselves, and there would be alot less time for well, my point is obvious.
When I started reading this thread, I didn't understand what the fuss was about. I never thought to consider that I'd need to be an expert on the series in question in order to figure out what was going on. I'm thinking it might have been easier to just explain what the problem was right away instead of having people guess, but then, that's just me.
<< <i>this is not the first 1866-s dime listed on ebay as an 1866 P but its is the first one ive seen in a PCGS holder. i know of one AU 66-s that is in an NGC holder as a 66 P and the S is visible ! to me it is disheartening, if they can make mistakes like this, then is it that far fetched that some fake coins are getting holdered as well ?? >>
Yes, i believe i remember that thread.
This reminds me of the 1910 plain Barber Half Dollars. i've never seen a TPG mislabel a 1910-S as a 1910-P but i've seen many dealers do so by accident. The S mintmark is very light on some of the 1910 Halves.

Wow! Still slamming folks!
Maybe many of those who opened the thread don't collect the series and, while finding it fascinating, wouldn't have to worry about it because they wouldn't be bidding anyway......hmmmmmmmmm
I'm sure there are series that YOU don't know and that if you went into the thread, with such an obtuse first post as this one has, you wouldn't know what was going on either, right? Maybe you prefer your threads with no replies? Then you could have slammed on folks for ignoring such an important discovery?
In all respect, maybe in the future you create a more impactive and clear thread title and opening post then you won't get bent out of shape when folks don't know as much as you

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
