I post in between feedings and diapers. I am trying to let momma sleep as much as possible. As for the ripping, I took a 5 minute break and quickly went through them. Haven't had time to see if there are any submittables. Going to start on that now...until the baby monitor tells me it's time to quit again.
If you are referring to the 78 Topps football, remember we had 2 boxes. So far there have been 2 Dorsett rookies. I had quite a few minor rookies and stars that are sub worthy.
Well I finally got my vending box today and I thought I might have better luck than the 79' vending box RIP I just did.
WRONG. No Ripken No Smith No Ryan - very bad RIP and again I have nothing to scan. Many cards with damage in the corners and soime on the side? This vending box even had something I have never seen before(I havent done that many) and that is 2 cards were facing the opposite of the rest of the cards which I found very bothersome. I trust Steve Hart completely, but if I didn't know better I would think this box had been searched, it just doesn't seem like an 82' box is worth the trouble.
Anyway I think I will pass on all future vending box RIP's.
I did also get a 2005 Upper Deck Ice unopened box. I will RIP later hopefully I will catch some nice cards there. It will be more fun opening packs.

The box I had with 2 Ripkens in it had the same issue. I too thought the box may be searched until I saw the first Cal. Mine had 1 card flipped around backwards.

Boy I really struck out on the stuff from Steve The 82 vending box had corner dings along virtually all the cards And one of the two '77 packs only had 5 cards in it! I've never seen that before and I've opened whole wax boxes of '77! I did get Munson (with wax stain) Nothing scan-worthy
I just finished ripping and sorting my 82's. I was actually pretty impressed with the condition of them. I would say that half of the box had sharp corners and half the box was well centered. I did pull these 3 that I needed for my RC collection. All three have legit shots at 10's. I don't think I have ever pulled a 10 from a vending box either.
Congrats to everyone that pulled Ripkens. Is it me or did it seem like the boxes had either zero or two in them?
I pulled one from my box, very well centered but a slight touch on the top loeft corner probly knocks it down to an 8.
Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.
I pulled just one Ripken from my box. It might seem like more poeple got two because some of the buyers purchased multiple Vending boxes.
I haven't had the time to post my rip results. But I got every major card from the 1982 Vending, condition was all over the board as was centering.
My '77s and '78 were a great disappointment (Even moreso when I factor in the 3 1978 rack packs I added to my order). One rack pack I opened had some very nice condition commons, other than that my biggest hits were Reggie Jackson from each of them, both badly offcenter. I'll scan and post if I can somehow get a second of time.
I have subbed somewhere in the neighborhood of 15 of the Ripkens. So far have received two EOTs, one 5 and the rest 8's. All came from packs or vending boxes.

Was this the same with the rest of you?

Thanks for the group rip!
<< <i>First time I've ever opened a vending box, it was a blast. These aren't perfect but they're better than the ones I already had.
Thanks for the group rip!
Congrats on TWO ripkens. They aren't perfect in your opinion, but they are better than the zero I got in my box...LOL. They look real nice.

I had two cards like that as well in my box.
Much more fun opening packs - no Crosby or Ovechkin but I did get these.......................

But, I did pull two Ripkens!
One has 8 to 8+ corners and the other 9.
Bill - thanx for the rip! I'll be looking closely to the other cards - and see if I can finish this set.
I'm also working on the 83T set - I got another box and will open it later.

Cool Ripken rookies to all who pulled them. That card was one of the first "hot" rookies I ever pulled back in the good old days!
Keep 'em coming.
