I guess I will have to just admit it... I'm a rare slab junkie and a crazy Franklin half collector. This one seemed to good to pass up.
I'm not wild about the brown tone, but the luster is very brilliant, bell lines are strong and it appears accurately graded.
Just how many Doily holdered Franklins have you ever seen? This is my first...

Cool pick up!! I know where a proof doily frankie is, I'll try and get him to post it.
Listen. Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony.

Picked these up some time back, even tho I do not actively collect the series anymore, and when I did it was always the business strikes. Both these slabs are pristine, as well the coins in them.

Nice! Let's see some others - even if they are not Franklins.

Any one have any toners in a doily holder?
  • Looks like a nice coin!

I have to admit that was a hard one to sell...and A VERY RARE HOLDER...only made for six months and so many were cracked out. Looking through over 75,000 Franklins in two years I only came across two one not for sale and that is the other one...the brown never bothered me. Always looked past it...if you decide you dont like it let me know I will take that back in a heart beat...image

  • Yes, Thank you Matt..................................I too had the pleasure of taking ownership of a 1952 Franklin. This one goes to the wifes birth year set.
