I've been hitting up Ebay trying to get all the NNO and Bazooka versions of all the Red Sox players. What I was thinking of doing though, was lining up all the numbers in sequence. So basically have for instance all #'d 8/25 for the Bazooka backs. I have most of the players already but I'd be willing to trade 1 for 1 to get the right serial numbers. I don't know how I would go about this or if it is even possible? What do you guys think? Is this just a pipe dream that has no chance of coming true?

So I stopped in at my local card store to pick up some CS1s and other supplies, and I decided to grab another box of Ginters (because I have no self-control). Well I'm glad I did because I pulled my first rip card! It's a Victor Martinez numbered 10/10!!! For grins I decided to check the bay to see what these typically sell for, to help me decide whether to rip it or not. It turns out that earlier this month someone sold another Victor Martinez rip card numbered 06/10 for $587.00!! Why is that?? Other #'d/10 rip cards come nowhere near that!

Since I'm still at work, I won't be able to scan it until I get home. Good times!!

Jeff, one of the pleasant surprised of ginter are some of the prices of the rip cards, there are obviously deep pockets for these cards and while 587 seems steep for
V Mart (Mantle and Pujols /10 go for that price), I wouldn't be surprised if you got close to that....that is why ginter is so great!

If it was a higher numbered rip card I would have ripped it right away, but since it's a 10/10, and the last one sold for a ridiculous amount, I've decided to let it ride on the bay. It was a tough decision, but I'd rather put that money towards a high-dollar Ripken card. Something that would mean more to me than anything inside this rip card. We'll find out on Saturday if I can come anywhere near the last one that sold. I started the auction at $99.99, so if nobody bids on it, I'll rip it.

This is only my second year with Allen & Ginter, and I have never had so much fun with a set before. It's very sad to think 2010 might (or will) be the last year for it.

For everyone else, before you unload all your spare minis onto Ebay, I'll offer $0.75 for all Braves black borders that you have (including Smoltz in BoSox uni, McLouth in Pirates uni, Francouer, Ryan Church in Mets uni. I don't want Adam Laroche as I'm sure we won't resign him next year) and $1.50 for all your Braves NNO minis (same player set mentioned above). I'll pay via paypal and will make it cover your shipping costs as well.

Lastly, and I realize this is a giant stretch, but if anyone knows who has either the Chipper 1/1 blank back or the Chipper wood card, please put them in contact with me somehow as I'd like very much to pick those both up. Thx.

Im a HUGE A&G FAN!!!
Right now im trying to put together the 09 A&G Relics and Autos set.

Have you been watching ebay for the wood? Chances are it would be there or perhaps still in packs, actually didn't I see it on ebay? The 1/1 blank backs are
made by topps and sold by topps, kinda sneaky if you ask me, they have made a ton on these. The Kershaw going for over 400. I feel that this takes money
out of the pot that we pack rippers could be getting for our cards. I dont' know if you can contact members on ebay, they change so much now.

<< Wow thread fell all the way back to the 3rd page. I have alot of auctions /trades comming and will have quite a few dupes when its all said and done. I want to get my regular size cards in order and maybe do a second or third regular size set if anyone is interested in trading.

Also to add I picked a Longoria auto for just over $3, the auction didnt have the words "auto" or "autograph", It had "Signature" in the title.

Cory, that is amazing. Good for you for thinking outside the box with your search words. Admittedly, when I want to work on my autos set, I always search "09 ginter auto". I guess most others do too. There are probably lots more of these cards that fall through the cracks...

Have you been watching ebay for the wood? Chances are it would be there or perhaps still in packs, actually didn't I see it on ebay? The 1/1 blank backs are
made by topps and sold by topps, kinda sneaky if you ask me, they have made a ton on these. The Kershaw going for over 400. I feel that this takes money
out of the pot that we pack rippers could be getting for our cards. I dont' know if you can contact members on ebay, they change so much now.

Yeah, I don't know what I think about Topps selling the blank backs directly on Ebay. If I were Eisner or whoever else is making the key decisions at Topps, I'd probably do it to. The alternative is to stuff them in packs and could Topps really charge more for the product only on the basis of 1 more insert being in there? Probably not. There are so many inserts already, its almost as if they've reached an insert saturation point, whereby no new inserts would entice collectors to pay more for the packs. The success of this direct selling model could really change the future of card distribution if Topps determines that direct Ebay sales for 1/1's nets them more than the incremental pickup they'd get on case sales by putting them in packs.

Regarding the Chipper, I actually planned my night around being home so I could last-second bid on the Chipper blank back. If I remember correctly, there were only 2 other bidders going into the final day. When the clock got to 8 seconds, I clicked on "submit bid" and thats when I realized I hadn't signed in yet. Doh! It sold for under $30, oh well..

Well we had the case rip tonight. The rip started off strong with a silk and a rip card in the first 10 packs! It slowed up quite a bit. Out of the case their
were two rips one yielded a Wright EXT. 3 silks (commons) one Dodo which I was able to trade for. The autos were all pretty weak and there were
no celeb GU's. I opened one box and did well with a Pennington auto and a BJ Ryan silk. Here is what I came home with
