Does anyone remember the Hendrixkat tooth scam?

It was a little before my time here, so I don't remember all the details. Something about taking donations for dental work so he wouldn't have to sell his collection and then proceeding to buy more coins and/or car parts on eBay. One of the CU classics.

Too bad they flushed the OF.

Must've been before my time, but I did a quick search in the archives and found quite a few posts that brought me up to speed.

I do remember that we had our own version of scammer on this board a few years back - very similar MO. Should that person ever resurface, I will be posting a similar warning, I can tell you.

He came back to take a collection for 9/11 victims. He wasn't welcomed very warmly the second time around.

I just did a sell to Hendrixkat.... wonder if it is the same person? Was for some old Yeomans. Seemed REALLY anxious to get them, and get them at a decent deal he did. Hrmmm... Anyways, he paid on time and the transaction went through. Was very patient and understanding about delays in shipping due to some family issues. So, no problems on my end.

Good to see you, O Spiny One.

I vaguely remember Hendrixkat from the ol' days. Used to use the "hippie" icon, as I recall.

Collector since 1976. On the CU forums here since 2001.

Not to be confused with Conder101, BTW.

Just sold some Yeoman books to him, paid quickly, no problem... so far... hasn't said if he received the books yet or not. I did send them media mail so it may take some time.

I remember the "tooth scam" from my days as a lurker.

It seems as though there used to be more excitement/controversy on the boards, but then I guess the ones causing most of it have been 86'd.

    Indeed.
