BCCG Roberto Clemente...how much is it worth?

Comments

  • Whatever VCP is for a PSA 4.

If it's not trimmed/altered, it should bring PSA 4/5 money retail.
Folks Who Bite Get Bitten. Folks Who Don't Bite Get Eaten.
  • Assuming it's not altered, I would say about $40. SMR for a PSA 5 is $60.

Thanks, I offered 40, lets see what they say.

Hopefully the seller understands what the BCCG 8 grade really is.

He does... That seller is a member on these boards..

Are you sure? The BIN is at 150.00 and people here are claiming it is a 50.00 card.

Nice card IMO if it would cross as a PSA 5.

Maybe with your question you are really just trying to find out who the seller is...image

And with the second part.... implying.... because some are saying it is a $50 that $150 is too high...

How am I doing Steve? pretty good huh...

    Nope, wrong.

I could care less who the seller is,

Secondly I have no idea if it is priced right or wrong.

That is why I asked if 150.00 was to high (since some here mentioned 50.00)

So I'd say you are not doing that well.

Actually what i was trying to imply is how many here will go after sellers like 707 for pricing cards above market
yet others seem to get a free pass.

My post was in no way meant to ridicule the seller, on the contrary, it was used to flush out people like you.

In that regard it was a success.

    so why imply???

just have big enough ones to say what you mean to begin with...

I'd rather be sardonic, that way I may get a flame war out of it.

One other point, even when I do say exactly what I mean from the beginning someone (I won't mention any names)

will read into it and claim I was implying something else.

Edited to add: maybe I should preface every post I make that way the comprehensive impaired will know exactly
what I am trying to say. Sorry for the edit I did not want to post 3x in a row.

    Steve
    Good for you.
  • the asking price is embarassing.
a best offer of $40 seems reasonable given the crap slab its in.
  • pdub1819pdub1819 Posts: 1,988 ✭✭✭✭
I offered $40 and they came back with $100.
    I declined.
Thanks for your help. If they are a seller on the forums, please PM me if you decide to sell it for $40.

When I was building my 65 set a PSA 7 would generally fetch 150.00, I have no idea what they bring today

as I have not been in that market. If I was in the Market today for one I'd simply buy a PSA graded one

and not have to worry. I'd prolly try to find a decent 6.

Good luck in any event, I'm sure you will find one with patience. They are not rare that is for sure.

    Steve

oops thought this was about the 65, my error. Advice still stands though.

    Good for you.

Well, I have a voucher for PSA that expires this Friday, I'm going to stop by there and get something graded. I was hoping to get a Clemente card that could go for a 6 or a 7 at the least to grade.
  • Recently I made a spreadsheet comparing BCCG sales prices vs. Beckett values. This card has a Beckett value of $200, and the average BCCG 8 card sells for 37% of the Beckett value. So I would estimate the value of this card as $74.

Plain and simple the card is EX or better "according to the flip" so the value of the card should be around the same price as a PSA 5..

Your "estimated value" is a little flawed since most of the buyers of BccG 8 cards are novice buyers who don't know what the 8 means on a BCCG flip..

The most I'd pay is PSA 4 money for the said card..

I forget who I got mine from, I think it was from someone here on the board, but according to my records I paid $115 for a PSA 7. Guess I got a good deal.

Maybe try a PM to carol. I think I've read where PSA has given people a little slack on voucher exprirations. You might be better trying to get another month or something instead of hurrying and buying the wrong card just to save a few bucks.

Thanks for the advice, whats her screenname so I can pm her?

She's helpful, I'm not sure if you can send a voucher later, but she should know and if it's possible it saves you the last minute panic buy that is usually bad news.
