As an unopened collector who also likes to rips unopened packs from the 1970s, I can appreciate both sides to the argument. For a purely unopened collector, the thrill of pulling submittable cards is outweighed by the thrill of holding a pack that has survived all these years in its original form.
Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.
So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts

Just like if you bought this box 10 years ago for $100 you'd be laughing now, or a different kind of laughing? Just trying to figure out what kind of laughing we're talking about.
my guess is it will be something like an evil and scary "MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA!!!!!" as opposed to say, something more in the neighborhood of "Tee-Hee-Hee".
