Haven't seen him post in what seems like a very long time.
Maybe he got tired of the beating he always took after the fiasco? He sure hung in there for quite some time despite the negativity he faced.

So, from what I can see, the dude fessed up to auctioning off AT coins (that he had done himself?).
One of the old threads was poofed, so if anyone can supply a quick synopsis of the situation,
I'd be interested.

The old rattler slabs were not air tight and were easily messed with which is why PCGS changed the slabs.

none of the slabs, the current ones included, are "air tight". they are sonically sealed. Air, contaminents, gas and water can still enter any of the top TPG slabs.
Q: Can my coin change appearance after being placed in a PCGS holder?
A: It is extremely unlikely that your coin will change appearance within a PCGS holder. The PCGS holder was designed specifically for the long-term storage and protection of your coins. The holder itself is made of inert materials that keep your coin safe. The sealed holder inhibits the entrance of atmospheric gases and contaminants that might harm your coin. Even so, common sense practices should keep your PCGS graded coins safe for a lifetime. Avoid humidity and excessive temperature swings by keeping your coins in a dry environment, preferably at a constant room temperature. If you have a coin that you think has changed in the holder contact PCGS customer service and we can arrange to examine the coin for you.

Edited to add: I'll never trust an unusually toned PCGS slab again, rattler or not, after seeing his work.

I was checking out his Washington Registry Set. A truly monster set of (mostly) toners!
They all looked NT, but I guess you have to wonder...
Funny though, Keets is ripped to shreds over his 1901-S Quarter, which he didnt even know was a key date coin, but this goes on and this person is still allowed to submit toners to PCGS...

Slabs aren't air tight and I assume it would involve a vacuum chamber and a source of sulfur. This was discussed in the past and our host quickly deleted those threads. I guess they didn't want anyone to get any ideas.

The new slabs are not airtight either. They changed the rattler slab because it was being counterfeited.

2 totally different things, and I think you know that.
MoC is between him and PCGS. And, I don't recall anyone defending him either...he was ripped into by many and in more than a couple of threads. Also, he didn't come on here boasting about his doctoring...rather, astute folks noticed coins that were toned, in the holders, much quicker than time would allow. THEY brought it up.
I don't believe that he went around attacking folks for it either, or sending them nasty PMs.
Now, keets' thing is because he came on here wanting his back patted and wanted some bragging rights, yet, most members have more ethical standards and would have hoped things were handled differently. When the majority was against what had happened, he went around deleting all his posts about it, creating more threads to mock others, and sent out nasty PMs to those that disagreed with him. Rather than let things drop, he wanted the attention he was getting so he could rage and vent.
PCGS was not involved in any way (other than certifying the coin).
So, big different in the 2 events and not sure why it would be brought up to compare them

Well to be quite frank, it is posts like this one, repeated over and over again...and then over again, that keep alot of the "veterans" of this forum from continuing to participate here on a regular basis. I sure still love coins, but the cult of personality that comes with it on most of the online forums is really tiresome and old.

no body called you a doctor, and if you look at your posts you did take advantage of a not so pleasant thing with MoC. Let it rest and study what you like best, you have to have a few years here to be a pot stirrer like Kenny and I (age has its advantages)..

MOC and I have never exactly been BFFs or anything, but he was never a legitimate coin doctor. He experimented with toning, and by all accounts, the experiments really did not work very well, and it is very unlikely that he ever made any money doing so. He took some crappy, common blast white Morgans and made them into crappy, ugly toned common Morgans. BFD
What got him into trouble was that he got caught in a lie afterward. He apologized, and while he was by and large forgiven, no one who is here will ever likely forget it, and that is the cross he has to bear. He is a very astute collector, who is extremely knowledgeable in Wash quarters, and because of this brings a lot to the forum table.
So, when discussing the issue of coin doctoring, it really does not make sense to bring up MOC because he was never a legitimate coin doctor. At least that's my take on the whole situation.
