I always carry trauma scissors and a small drychem extinguisher in the truck, cheap stuff. My wife has a combination window hammer/seatbelt cutter that the dealer gave out.
The cheese state must be very proud of these selfless folks. Great story, that takes some huge cajones!
Proud to say I live in the same city as these true heroes do. Those are the kind of people kids need to look up to. Not some juiced up jock who hits a ball for a living!
WOW! Those individuals who saved that family deserve nothing but good things to happen to them.. WHAT HEROES!
GOD BLESS and watch over that little boy. May he recover 100%.
STAY HEALTHY!

Having been a member of the Chicago Fire Department for over 10 years, I have witnessed more than a few acts of unbelievable courage, bravery and toughness. However, while watching that video, I have never felt more proud to belong to the brotherhood of firefighters. I have a 2 yr old son who is always tightly strapped into his car seat when we drive around. I could not help myself from thinking of him every second of that video. Everyone who participated in that tremendous rescue, especially the 2 guys who went into the car, are TRUE heros and have actually made the difference between life and death for that boy. As a 10 year fireman on a busy department, those guys are MY heros!!!
I lIve in southern Wisconsin, about a 45 minute drive from where this took place. This has been all over the news and rightly so! these guys are definite heroes and should be honored as such. Off duty...on duty.. It doesnt matter. I was told once by a fireman that they are never off duty and for that I have to say thank you to the ones who protect us. Police, fire, military, thanks to all of you.
Pretty amazing. Give that cameraman some oxygen after that one. Anyone know was there another vehicle involved with injuries or just a single car ax? I'm sure it seemed like it took forever to get a knife to cut the belts.

That was incredible. I cried openly while watching.

While unfortunately we see lots of scammers, scumbags, and lowlifes in this industry and society at large, these guys really show once again that there are good, heroic, kind, decent, honorable people out there as well. What a great story!

It takes a special breed to put one's own life on the line, especially for strangers!
Thank God those firefighters happened to be there!
