Paying $148.24 for a 1982 Topps Traded Cal Ripken Jr. PSA 9
I'm paying $148.24 (VCP average) for a 1982 Topps Traded Cal Ripken Jr. PSA 9 if you have one you'd like to sell. Must be centered nicely. Please PM scan. I can pay tonight via paypal if I like the card. This will eventually be signed for my HOF signed rookie card collection.

Nothing even close to VCP.
Good luck though. I am sure you'll find one to your liking and it will look great autographed!

Yep, I checked ebay. This one sold today for $143.49
Ripken 82 Traded PSA 9
I just didn't know that I "needed" it then
There are a few that end on ebay this week so if no one wants to have a quick, easy sell here and avoid the listing fees, I'll just pick up one of those.
I'm excited about getting the opportunity to get one signed at a decent price. Ironman fan has a great discounted price over on the main board.

<< <i>What is VCP? Is it Vintage Card Price? Something else. Is it possible to get this card for $125 being that there is a recession and all? >>
VCP is http://www.vintagecardprices.com It is a sometimes useful reference tool to see what graded cards have been selling for on ebay, and at some other auction houses. It is not the "end all" that some believe, however, for cards that have numerous relatively current transactions, it will give you an idea of what the cards sale for quickly, and is a very good product for that. For cards that are extremely rare, or that don't trade hands via the tracked venues too often, then it is a relatively worthless tool for price checking.
It's been 6 months since I posted the thread so I don't know what the current price range is typically for Ripken cards, but even if its the same as it was 6 months ago, then I would say that it's always possible to get the card for $125 whether or not we are in a recession. Just have to take the time to find a seller that needs to sell, rather than wants to sell. However, the time you have to spend searching, may not be worth the price difference from $148.24 to $125.00.
This is the one I bought unsigned as a PSA 9, cracked it out and got it signed and regraded as a 9 as well.
Take care and good luck!
