Kinda upset with myself. After reading this thread I convinced myself to buy 3 boxes... Well in my haste to buy, I picked up 3 2008 boxes instead of the 2009 like I wanted! Oh well I'll have to pay better attention to the auction next time. Probably grab a few this weekend at a local card show.

I don't currently have enough available funds to get into the 2009 A&G game, but I'd like to trade for anyone's extra base & SP cards. I still have some 2008 A&G minis that I don't want, as well as some other misc. A&G minis and relics. I'm especially interested in the base Negro Leaguer and Champions cards. Here is what I have available:

    16 assorted A&G back minis
    6 black minis (148, 205, 216, 219, 234, 286)
    7 SP minis (324 x2, 330, 333, 343, 344, 350)
    2 A&G back SP (310 & 312)
    1 black SP (318)

    3 World Leaders (WL10, WL23, & WL44)
    2 Worlds Icons (A8 & A16)
    1 Shark (WDS4 )
    1 Pioneers of Aviation (PA4)
    1 Team Orange (TO10) - TRADED

2007 Sammy Sosa white no #

2007 National Promo set A&G mini cards
    1 Babe Ruth - TRADED
    2 Lou Gehrig - TRADED
    3 Jackie Robinson - TRADED

Let me know if anyone is interested.

I have everything sorted in numeric order now just need to put together need / trade list. I am actually missing two regular size SP's out of a entire case.

FYI Blasters at Target in Iowa. I had a friend pick up two boxes for me that I hope to get tomorrow. The sorting never ends! image

Would someone please post a retail wrapper so we can compare the odds?

    It would be much appreciated!!

No worries they will be good trade bait and I am sure you will have some nice pulls. Alot of us are still trying to finish off last years set.

Remind me what would the big deal about blasters is?
If i've opened several boxes of hobby why would I pay 19.99 for a blaster?

Although last year I did pull a relic from 3 of 3 A&G Blasters I purchased.

While I myself have never had good luck with blasters, fellow board member nam812 did pull the King George cut auto from a blaster last year. Other than that, blasters are good for building sets, but that is about it.

Saw this auction on Ebay and it made me crack up (auction # 370227958054). Seller describes their David Wright jersey relic as a "one of a kind bleached jersey card" and "1 of 1 (?)" evidently because the jersey pattern differed from that of some other Wright jersey card that seller apparantly considers to be the "base non-bleached" jersey card. Jeez.... As confusing as all of the insert sets can be for even an experienced collector, you've got clowns like this muddying the waters even more for the the unknowing. Total clownage..
Successful transactions with: thedutymon, tsalems1, davidpuddy, probstein123, lodibrewfan, gododgersfan, dialj, jwgators, copperjj, larryp, hookem, boopotts, crimsontider, rogermnj, swartz1, Counselor

Always buying Bobby Cox inserts. PM me.

Ive been working from another case now, I think my luck has maybe run out. First two boxes had nothing, a total of 5 GU. Third box had a nice rip card in it
numbered to just 25 of Quentin. I bought 4 more today and the first box had a plate of Old Faithful..cool, next box just 2 GU...now thats 5 boxes with no
ink. Next box had an auto of some nobody. Last box had a chick auto...ok...so 7 boxes in just 2 autos, already pulled the case hit and the case hit mini. Should
I buy more from this case or leave it alone.

    Thanks

what's the trade value on black minis? Are they worth as much as relics/autos? Odds state 1:10 so you get 2-3 a box on average, just like the "hits".

Yes, I ordered mine from Lockwood and still haven't received them yet. Hopefully they ship before the weekend, I need to rip some A&G!

I have opened about 2 and a half cases now. One case did not have either invention or extinct in it. I was lucky that a box that someone else opened
did and they left those at the shop which the dealer sold me. I have three out of the 10 total, this is going to be a tough set!

The reason I was a trifle worried is because I emailed him Monday with no reply as of last night. He normally is quick to respond. I trust Jack but was wondering if he had some sort of family problem. Your phone call makes me feel much better.

So my Fosbury auto and relics were essentially my best hits this year. Kind of cool that I got the pair.

I don't know the card number on my red cloth Pujols, but I can take a look tonight and share. After a quick search on eBay, there are 13 Pujols jerseys currently listed and only 2 are red cloth, the rest are gray. Of the 18 closed listings I see, only 2 are red.

After purchasing a few lots on eBay, I'm down to 11 more code parallels that I need. If anyone is trading, here they are:

    3 - Manny Parra
    8 - Matt Cain
    9 - Ryan Theroit
    62 - Dan Uggla
    69 - James Loney
    73 - Vernon Wells
    134 - Jered Weaver
    159 - Denard Span
    179 - Trevor Hoffman
    210 - Johan Santana
    300 - David Ortiz

Please PM me if you can help. Thanks!

yeah, some of the red cloth are listed as jerseys, others as "hat" relics. and only some of them have the card # as AP2. none of them list the card as AP3.

Have any of these turned up yet? Be curious to see what these look like
I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.

I think AP3 is the pre-game used syringe card that Topps supposedly pulled from production.
