Are these cards from 1950 legit?

Were they reprinted?

Dates seem kinda screwy...

So the card predicted his death? If that is the case I cannot wait to get a 2009 Callahan Albert Pujols Bio end....died in 2010 variation.

If my memory from reading baseball card stuff when I was young still serves me correctly, then these were printed over the course of 7 years for the baseball hall of fame. First issued in 1950 and every year or so, the HOF would add new cards, until production stopped in about 56 I think. Thus, the issues from the last couple of years are the hardest to find.

I don't think there's a card on the planet that deserves that kind of description, let alone a boring black/white one.
  • He actually has the same card listed twice on e-bay. The first one is listed at $499.99, the second one is listed at $299.00. Both are listed at BIN.

Positive ..... its old, 55-60 years or so

Negative ..... its a "Collector Issue" (ie TCMA, etc, and most modern cards.... originally purchased as a complete set with no product or service of some kind) = lower value

Sold at the HOF, Printed over many years in the 1950's, the short print players (only printed last 1-2 years) are tougher, but they are not rare at all (except the Happy Chandler). That auction has a crazy price, that card is usually a $10-$20 card. Think of them as Exhibit cards as far as value.
