psa 10...PSA 10

BGS 9.5 is selling for a PSA 8 price....

PSA 10 is DOUBLE BGS 9.5

PSA Registry?

Edit to add: I really think that BGS reputation for allowing sheet cut cards, is hurting the company. I am not stupid enough to think that a sheet cut or doctored card has never found its way into a PSA holder, but BGS admits that they will grade a sheet cut card, where as PSA has said that they won't knowingly grade a sheet cut card. One year ago, I had nothing but BGS graded cards, and today, I am down to four cards.

Beckett's reputation for being a stupid company is what's hurting Beckett. They're more interested in Pokemon than being a serious player in the card industry. The only time I think of them is when I get a card that I want a quick look at only to see if it's been altered, and even then I don't fully trust their opinion.

I used to use beckett but since they updated their website(which is horrible) and got rid of their set registry I don't waste my time with them anymore. I also had similiar problems with a couple of vintage BVG cards that I had bought that turned out to be sheet cut.

why someone would send a vintage card to BVG is beyond me....

not to mention that a BGS 10 has a "good" chance of being trimmed or doctored....

This is a direct result of Beckett's lack of a registry. Since the site switch last year BGS cards have been steadily decreasing in value. In my opinion it has nothing to do w/ the grading service but BGS's lack of a registry.

I think there are good examples of each card companies' selling price being more/equal/less depending on which given card is being considered and priced. That being said, I agree that the set registry gives PSA cards a slight edge in value, not to mention that Beckett has had a few ethical gaffes in the past 25 years that I consider to be questionable at best.
