Finished my "pre-game" 5 boxes last night - not really all that much to report (and worse yet, no scans - sorry guys). Best pull was an Alex Gordon /25 rip card that did yield the Pujols extended mini, so that was good. Two ink sightings, Rich Hill and the Donkey Kong guy, and a couple of handfuls of relics, the best being Ichiro (two of them), a Pujols bat, and a piece of authentic memorabilia of champion swimmer Lynne Cox. Two no number minis (Helton and Milito Navarro - not to be confused with Mike Navarro of CU signed rookie card fame). No silk, no plates, no DNA relics. I think I pulled the standard number of subset cards, and even managed an extra of Nessie.

Is the SP list of 301 - 350 confirmed? I started sorting and in the first hundred I'm missing 16 cards...

I really suggest a google document to keep up with needs/haves/trades...as seen in my signature line...it's free and easy that way.

Start a new thread if that's what makes it easier for you though.

I had some cards damaged as well and here is the info from Topps on how to get replacements:

"The Topps Company will replace any Topps produced card that is determined to be damaged or defective from any current-year product (only), while supplies last.

A maximum of 25 cards per request is permitted, and each grouping must be accompanied by the following four items: (1) a letter of explanation, (2) copy of receipt from the store in which you purchased the cards, (3) pack wrappers and (4) proof of purchase (UPC code found on the bottom of the box) sent to the following address:

they're the same as last year 301-350. Same placement in the pack each time too

also 1 or 2 reg minis per box had been short prints just like last year

It seemed while opening that I didn't pull many Mantles or Phelps. Interested in seeing other peoples numbers....according to my
black minis which I just put in order, the 300's are short...I pulled only 3 blacks in 2 cases!!!

33250 packs would make the short print blacks have a run of: 255

still pretty short.

that's only 115 cases

and don't forget retail will mess up the count as well

I also wanted to report my first trade of the season (though it was for '08 cards) with Vintage90Topps. Tim was an excellent trader and was extremely generous to include a 2008 UD POH 500 HR Club Frank Thomas card! Quite a surprise. I'll be sending it off to get signed since UD didn't create a certified auto version for Frank like they did other members.

Well, just busted my last box for at least a few days. Pretty happy with it although I still don't have a rip card through 10 boxes

got the last 4 highlights cards I needed
2nd to last pack had the last 2 base cards I needed
and the very last pack had the final SP I needed

so it took exactly 10 boxes to produce a master set this year

4 black minis with 1 SP

Congrats on finishing up your set and thanks for scanning in the box bottom for those of us who haven't been ripping packs all weekend.

I've been relegated to fishing on Ebay for my insert sets. Among other things, here are 3 A&G deals that I was very proud of: Francouer Auto ($4.99), Juan Rivera Auto ($6.01), and Ervin Santana Auto ($4.80). Hopefully, I can continue to get deals like this so I'll be to afford a Phelps Auto later on :>. From watching the Bay all day, I definitely feel like the Relic cards are going cheaper than expected and the Negro league Autos are commanding quite a premium. Also, the non-sports autos are all getting strong bids.

Looking at the Teixeira extended mini that is about to end on ebay...I think I may have listed mine for too long and with the wrong title. I had it with a BIN of $65 and starting bid of $9.99...idiot of me. Went against my listing rule. After 4+ days, it's at the opening bid and the one that ends in 2 hours is at $50+.

I think I was the 1st to sell a complete 2006 allen ginter black mini set on ebay back in 2006.
Set sold for $1000.00
That set was not easy to make!

Im 3 cards shy of completing the no number set from 2006.
Still need Utley, Abreu and Nathan.
Never had anything priced at $15k

I can't see how retail at 72 per can even touch hobby for 8-10 bucks more. Blasters have only 8 packs in them so they really don't owe you
anything, relics are 1:17, maybe even more for retail. Anyone been watching prices...what is a hobby case up to?
