Giving an assistant access to your Ebay account

Is there a way to allow access to our ebay account for the purposes of uploading inventory but restricting it in such a way that they would not have access to bank account or paypal information which would leave us open to potential problems? If so, how?

If you use a different passwaord for your PayPal account then your ebay account I don't see a problem

My employees do not have access to my paypal password. My ebay payment type is paypal auto with NO backup. I print paypal payments in the am when I check my emails and thats what they get for shipping info. Keeps it pretty foolproof.

So it's possible to hire a part time person for the purpose of adding items to the ebay account and NOT be vulnerable?

It's possible from the paypal side of things but you are still ultimately responsible for anything they put into the auctions (restricted phrases, errors, etc).

Yup!
Except for the occasional ferrari purchase!!
Honestly though you should change your password anytime an employee leaves obviously. Also drain your "dump" bank account that paypal feeds into quite often. Do NOT use your main business account or personal account for paypal dumping. Can get quite painful if a vengefull employee buys something in the late night that taps your bank account!!! Also take cc's off the paypal account after you buy items. You can always add a card in a couple minutes if you need the money for a purchase. I change my acct password monthly anyway as employees might access my acct from their houses with honest intentions and have a keylogger etc. Its not really that bad once you get used to the routine.

Giving an assistant to your eBay account ... is not a good idea.

Seems more complicated and possibly costly than what I had in mind. At least to start. I'll run a help wanted ad just the same for some other things I want done, and see if I can hire someone who shows the good old fashioned work ethics.

Given the economy, you should be able to get someone decent if you give decent pay (for your area...I have no idea what decent is in your area since I am in the Seattle region and know it is likely different).
If you go too cheap, beware what you get.
