Should have known better

Every time I think I know what I'm doing, I mess up. Ordered rolls from an auction expecting OBW and got a hand rolled Coin-tainer roll - then I carefully re-read the text and looked at the photo again image

Arrows and text were added by me:

My error, but at least I only got ripped off for $3.50 ...

Whether or not paying a premium for an OBW roll is a ripoff in and of itself is another story image

Always read the listing 2 or 3 times before you bid

Okay...not to sound mean, but if the image was there AND the text was there AND both were correct, explain what you mean by getting "ripped off." Wouldn't it be more accurately characterized as not being thorough? And believe me, I've been there plenty of times! image Ripped off implies deception or fraud, not carelessness on the part of a buyer. Again, I have no intent to be mean, but I am always curious about the use of the phrase "ripped off."

I think that mixing OBW rolls and Coin-tainer rolls in the photo like that is deceptive, there are brown OBW rolls out there. I would have been fully satisfied with paper or plastic OBW, but hand rolled was not so nice. I thought the image was useful to post as a cautionary tale - although these coins are admittedly well below the standards of the great coins typically posted here.

Bottom line: my fault for a lazy read and a hasty trigger on the "buy" button.

For what it's worth, the vendor does offer returns, but for a couple of bucks I felt that it wasn't worth it. Also, I did not leave retaliatory feedback, so it's a wash. I'm probably going to spend most of them (D "Formative Abes") to make some collectors here east of the Mississippi happy for circulation finds.

    edited for clarity.
