cut to the chase....what lp2 dated boxes are yielding the most errors?

I've read several threads here but haven't seen a consensus on which dates on the lp2 boxes are what we are hunting for most

aggressively...

I picked up a 4/29 and a 4/30 off the bay which I had read produced decent numbers, but I've also read that several other dates have

produced as well....

Anyone want to break it down?

Not really. As has been stated in the other 10 posts on this, it's luck how many you get in a roll between mostly 4/17 and 4/30.

So, the only answer to your question is: the rolls you open.

Actually the DDR 1 has a Die gouge across the book, and that is classified as an error

They are being found 4/17 to 6/05 with the heavy amounts being in the 4/27 to 4/30 group.

I am just now starting to receive boxes I purchased on the bay. I've been concentrating only on boxes dated 4/28, 29, and 30. I'm almost

afraid to open them. I need to get some coin holders first, just in case, so I can separate and protect them should I choose to send them

in for grading. Any recommended holders? Should I be using cotton gloves when opening the rolls? I've never been on this kind of a

treasure hunt before and want to handle these properly....wish me luck once I do break into them imageimage

    I got 5 sets dated 4/29. I opened 4 P rolls and got 49 DDR-001 and about 29 DDR-002. I thin I have about 10 DDR-003. My last roll had a DDR-002 on the outside. I sold it on ebay.

I used cotton gloves and put them in cardboard holders.

I read somewhere that the boxes dated 4/16/09 had some of the most errors also this was interesting

And looks like box 04/17/09 13:54 9774 is tossing out this one, with the clash one too.

    My findings so far:

4/21 ZERO (but some very nice die cracks)
    4/29 ZERO (shocked)
    4/28 9 all 001 + die cracks
    4/30 29 mixed 001/002
4/30 001 seen on end of roll so kept roll intact
    5/01 ZERO
    5/06 ZERO
    Opening more today!!!

I will say...This IS fun and well worth the small investment. Still wondering how many intact rolls will be left when the searching is done???

I've opened 50 boxes. 4/20,4/22,4/24,5/1,5/4 have all come up empty. All the others have yielded some returns. I hope this helps you.

I didn't see that. I have two rolls with an 001 on one end and a 002 on the other. When I was going through thmy lot of five boxes that day the other three were giving out 40 001's and 21 002's , so those rolls must be loaded.

Yeah great deal. Only thing that I don't like about those rolls is the fact that most of the time the coins on the end get damaged from the rolling machine with a nice circular scarring around the rim.

True...BUT...I have not found a roll with just one error in it. The least I have found in a roll is 9.... (or zero). That was a GREAT buy!

I also remember a similar roll selling for hundreds a few days ago with a DDR on the end

From a 05/05 time stamped 07::55 came these spine of the book errors, which run all the way down lincoln's hand. Eleven in the one roll I've opened.

Do they have a number assigned, or a name for the error?

    Thanks.........

The one on the bottom is the extra long book spine thing....

Sorry JungleFever for not answering sooner. The first picture is not something I have seen yet, might want to check coppercoins.com as a reference on your finds. The second picture looks like the DDR-006 that is mated with the DDO-002. Definately check that one out on the website given, or try Dvnmagazine.com in the 3rd supplement.

All I have heard is that you will probably end up with about 100 spotted coins from that date. Who knows you might be the first to find something new in there. I have given some thought to this date though, If it were possible to find the box with the earliest date and time on it might go for a small premium just for being the first ones boxed. Probably not, just my way of showing that the ol noggin wont stop running 100 miles an hour.
