I had already contacted the seller on Saturday and awaiting his response.

    Hi Brian

I totally agree that there was a mistake here - the card is not mint and based on the price of the item and the quality of the seller - it was a mistake rather than a lie IMO - that we'll have to see.

My criticism? Perhaps this could have been worded differently:

    1. You asked "what should I do?" When you already did something.

    2. Why not have asked: "was this cheap of me to want a refund on a $15 item?"

We won't find anywhere in the dictionary where "principle" is defined by a dollar criterion.

I doubt if I would bend over to pick up a penny in the street but a sawbuck?

Everyone has a different threshold to how much they would go thru to make a point in principle.

I think you're a good guy and don't deserve anyone's insults - whether direct or indirect - over asking for help.

I just think if worded differently - and left the shipping and handling out of the disccussion - this would not have resulted in the minor fray that's now ensuing.

To be frank, it's disappointing - how over the years - these kinds of threads draw way more space and comment than threads involving the collectibles, as such.

Good luck - and I'm willing to put up a $20 bill that the guy does the right thing and offers the refund - the seller definitely is in error.

Mike, You always put a great effort into your creative input.

    I regards to you mentioning,

<< <i>1. You asked "what should I do?" When you already did something. >>

At the time I started this thread I had already contacted the seller, but I only sent him an email letting him know that I received the card with a crease and that I would get back to him within the next day to see what we could both do to rectify the situation. I was just giving him a heads up that there was a problem.

I really wanted advice and many members including yourself posted or pm'd me what I could do if the seller doesn't take care of me or what is fair to take care of the situation. I'm new to purchasing baseball cards other than buying new packs and was needing advice.

Thanks for all your responses Mike.

    FINAL UPDATE:

I received a response from the seller and he was willing to give me a full refund if I send the card back to him. A couple of CU members had PM'd me and said I should consider asking the seller if he was give me a partial refund and just keep the card if that's acceptable. I felt that was a good idea as it was a cheap card that looked good and wasn't worth all the hassle. Like I mentioned earlier, I wasn't looking for a graded auto card, I just wanted to get what I purchased. I sent the seller a reply and asked him what type of refund would he do if I were to keep the card? He said he was give me a refund of $10.00 and would await my response. I gave him the ok this morning telling him that was more than acceptable and thanks for handling the problem.

Glad it worked out Brian, it seems to me the seller is a stand up guy who made it right.

Thanx Brian - glad it worked out and I thought it would.

And thanx for the clarification - I had no idea what the extent of experience you had - but to be honest - no matter how much one has - it's always nice to read here what people recommend.

Most here sell to some degree and really offer good references or advice.

Overall - the card presents very well considering it's the auto you're interested in.

I remember when he was a really hot prospect - wow - how time flies.

Good luck on your auto set.

No problem. I was headed to the post office today anyway so I thought I'd give a shot again. It's on it's way.

The buyer PAYS that. It is included in the BIN price.
