Best way to sell 500,000 cards? 1971-1998..

Hi guys.
I have about 500,000 cards left from 1971-2000 with about 90% of them from 1980-1998.
for example i have 10,000 84 topps football, 10,000 85 topps football
5,000 82 topps baseball, 5,000 81 topps baseball, 20,000 87 opc etc
Probably have 500 different griffeys, ripken, bonds, arod, montana etc
I have employees at $7 an hour.
Is it worth it to have them build sets? build player lots? build team lots? Starter sets?
It seems like between their wages and ebay and paypal and shipping fees on heavy items, it wont be worth the effort.
Should i just list them in one lot and try to get $5000 for them? or is that price not even realistic? $2000?
i wish i could just list them all for $1ea like burbank and pay no listing fees.. But who will sort them all!!!
Thoughts?
Maybe build only the sets that sell for at least $40.. then group up the rest in one lot?

If you decide to split the stuff up, I get first dibs on the 84 Football lot. I have been steadily selling lots of those out of my store for two years now and am just about out of the last 10,000 card lot I bought.

Break them into large lots based on players, years, sets. partial sets, rookies, etc., that will sell for at least $50. If that becomes too time consuming, make them even bigger and go for $100
And yes, donate up to around $5k for a tax write-off. Once over the standard deduction, they start asking a lot more question

My daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 2 (2003). My son was diagnosed with Type 1 when he was 17 on December 31, 2009. We were stunned that another child of ours had been diagnosed. Please, if you don't have a favorite charity, consider giving to the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation)

If you do not need the $$$$$ right away, why not try breaking them up, by creating different lots:
Player lots
Year lots
Surprise bulk lots (like Rube did)
Star card lots
etc. etc etc.
Be fair, give good deals, and I'm sure you will "zero-in" which lots are selling and which ones are not selling.
Or, another suggestion, why not partner with some CU thread members? If some agree to split 50/50 with you, let them break-up and sort your cards into sell-able lots and then list them on ebay for sale. And just split the proceeds.
It will be a lot of work, but should be profitable for both parties!

P.S. There are several here that have good reps on ebay and have the knowledge to categorize and break-up your cards to marketable "ebay lots".
