    How old are you Ken? I find it comical that a 19 year old college kid is more of an adult than you are. Having fun "getting even"?

    Oh let me answer this - 19 yr old college kid..

    You openly tell us that you threatened the seller with a negative feedback and now you puzzy foot around by telling us that you did not DO that when you emailed him. Want to stir chit in the pot. What is your ebay handle, I will put you on my block bidders list, and guess what punk- you will be the 1st jackass to be on my list. You argued over 7 bucks for principle? on a coin that might make you twice what you paid for it- give it a rest- apologize to the board as well as the seller for your teenage stupidity and we might look upon this as a childish act, but do not call out KS on what you post.

    Be wary of us old folk- we are devious and are full of knowledge, something that you will learn as time goes on...

    Ken- a kick in the nutz is what this youngun deserves.. >>

    I don't owe anyone an apology. Ken is the one stirring the pot, because he got caught in a huge lie by me a year and a half ago and is holding a grudge. If you don't know what I'm talking about, then you obviously don't have all of the information to be making value judgments about me. I'm done arguing. I have explained myself enough. I have already agreed that I probably shouldn't have said what I did to the seller, so what are you so annoyed about? I have reproduced the exact email that I sent the seller on the forum multiple times, so read that before you tell me I deserve to be physically harmed.

    -Paul >>

    physically harmed by an emoticon? You are a child- grow skin- get old, and just an FYI- I did read your opening post and felt you were absolutely wrong in your analogy of how you handled this matter, maybe you did not read my sarcastic post in which all ebay sellers should just GIVE away our items to all buyers.

    Most likely as with anyone your age you have a deficient attention span and can not concentrate on what is at hand. Are you a good student- all A's? or are you the kid who walks into class a bit late using an excuse as to why you can't make it in a timely fashion.. I'm thinking that you have been chastised a few times in your adolescent life. ( and to think- I'm 53 going after my Master's after being out of school over 20 years!)

    Oh an please enlighten me on a lie you nailed Ken on back a few moons ago- I don't follow fodder from kids to often. post a link to the issue and I will read that in a few seconds.

    Age has its limitations kid- try to remember what you do before inserting your foot into yer ass.

    Actually, I did get all A's last semester, and I'm studying to be an Aerospace Engineer. You can ask Ken about the lie he got caught in yourself. I don't have the time nor the desire to explain the situation to you, but trust me, it was quite the lie.

    Here's a link to his apology, though.

    Mistakes:

    * "Misquote" yourself in the original post, then, when people use YOUR OWN WORDS to form an opinion, backpedal and say that isn't what you said.
    -hint: Be careful what you write and pay attention to details...and try to calm down before you post

    * Get into pissing contests with others in the thread, particularly when you have already made the aforementioned "misquote" mistake
    -hint: Not every reply needs replied to and the more you argue a point that YOU created as wrong just puts yourself deeper into a hole

    * Get into the age argument
    -hint: Who really cares? If you do care, and are older than 16, then you have a complex about your age and are allowing others to goad you on. Again, you lose.

    * Bring up your field of study/work
    -hint: if there is nothing relevant about your field of study/work, then WHO CARES? It brings NOTHING to the argument and there are plenty of "smart" people that are STUPID! I know quite a few that are EE, CS, PhD, MBA, MS, etc, that are not smart when it comes to courtesy and/or common sense. I know "common" workers who are quite smart with no advanced degree

    * Bring up past threads with no relevance
    -hint: if your argument can't stand on its own, you have a problem

    * Post a thread where you don't look good anyway
    -hint: Really, had to mention this again as this is very pertinent. You do yourself no favors by doing such.

    I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

    Since i spent 25 minutes reading this post i will add my 2 cents worth in. Seller did overcharge on shipping. He responded to another person about the charges and NOT YOU. You jumped the gun. I( would not blame him for not lowering the shipping if i recieved a email like that.

    I try to list my ebay stuff, with clear pics, good descriptions and ship in a timely manner. I hate 100 emails over a 30 dollar item. You buy it, you pay for it, and i ship it. If you do not like it, send it back. I will usually pay all the shipping unless you become a pain in the A$$. Over the years i have lost a ton on shipping. Sometimes i manage to make a buck or 2 but usually i lose. To whine about a few bucks is silly. To make threats over it is even worse.

    I would advise staying away from Heritage or most big auction companies. Those guys nail you on the little purchases. A 35 dollar item can easily top 50 bucks shipped by them.

    Decomposition of Velocity Field
    Any fluid velocity field can be decomposed into the sum of a rotational field and a deformation field.
    u = uR + uD
    where u is the velocity field (a vector),
    u = uex + vey
    uR is the rotational field,
    uR = uRex + vRey
    and uD is the deformation field.
    uD = uDex + vDey

    Rotational Velocity Field of the Simple Shear Flow
    The rotational velocity field for the simple shear flow is

    uR = (C/2)(y - yP)
    vR = -(C/2)(x - xP)

    In the purely rotational flow all fluid elements experience solid body rotation. In other words the fluid elements rotate without undergoing any deformation.

    Long read, and confusing with all the quoted quotes.

    1) It's not just about 7 dollars. It's 7 x his number of auctions so likely hundreds/thousands. Seller prob does this all the time (i think I came across 2 other examples in the thread where he "forgot" to adjust for cheaper shipping. This is just his game to pry more money out of buyers). A lot of forum members may have reacted so vhemently to you because they have some unresolved guilt about doing this (overcharging a little for shipping) themselves.

    2) Good for you for calling him out on it.

    3) As for all the back and forth crap with the other members, I am not into it.

    cheers

    << <i>eBay program doesn't easily allow him to change shipping charge after auction started

    ask him what s/h should be so you can adjust payment >>

    Yep, wha I often do is refund via cash in the box on too much shipping. The funny, actually not, thing about shipping is tha i always loose or at best break even. The free shipping by Eba thing is a farce, the Ebay line is peole will pay more, therefore Ebay makes more fees, the reality is that people spend the same and pay for shipping. Don't bust a sellers nuts about shipping, they are already loosing money, just give them the chance to make it right. If you sold on ebay quite a bit you would know, shi* happens with invoices. Just chill and be a normal person, no need to be a dic& about things from the get go.

    Oh what a tangled web we weave...

    As one who has thousands of feedback on eBay split about 50/50 between buying and selling:

    1. If the seller has his account settings such that invoices are autogenerated at the end of listings, the invoice with the $12 shipping may have been sent before he could manually send one, so this doesn't mean the seller was trying to get away with anything.

    2. I occasionally have buyers, especially international, that misread (or don't bother to read) my shipping terms. Usually they underpay, but on the occasion they overpay, I simply refund the difference. It's not rocket science and it's not the end of the world.

    3. No matter how you worded your email to the seller, it was feedback extortion. Period. End of discussion. This is a no-no and can get you booted from eBay. Don't do it again.

    4. What is your eBay userID?

    Agreed. Why is the seller apparently not able to do that consistently. If it were easy and he were inclined he would. There are ethical and unethical sellers on e bay, he seems to be falling in the later category.

    I still think he needed to be called out.
