Don't ask me why I slabbed it. Just... because.
It's not low enough for a lowball set but not high enough for anything else. Nor is it a CircCam or anything special.
But it's an early S-mint and a Civil War date, and I like it. And hey, it's Pop 1.

Edit to add: the Swiss pieces are also gorgeous, especially the 1-rappen and 5-franc.

<< <i>TDN, that is so crazy !!!! It doesn't even make sense that there should be a series with that many pop 1 coins at all, let alone all in one collector's hands. I don't think there is any other series with such a high percentage of dates that exist in pop 1 !!! >>
Somebody please sell me the old holder NGC MS66 1877!
Someone get me the smelling salts, that collection is amazing tdn.
PS
Who has the 78-S MS68?
<< <i>TDN, that set has got to be the most impressive set ever put together.

Thank you. I was fortunate to have good timing and a great passion for the series.
The MS68 was available several times and I passed on the coin each time. It just doesn't have the eye appeal that my coin has - not an upgrade to my set IMO.
