Ever sell a card to the guy on the card?

Selling the 100 or so cards in my abandoned attempt at 1982 Topps graded...

Auction ended last night for PSA 9 #363 Bob Molinaro (White Sox)

Received payment from Robert Molinaro today.

Got to figure it is the same guy. Pretty cool.

That would be cool if it's the same guy. Or it could be another guy named Bob Moilnaro who collects him because they have the same name. You should email him asking if it's really him.

    Either way - neat story

Could be the case. I'll have to email.

My high school cross country coach was named Frank Thomas. Of course he had no idea why people started giving him a hard time around 1993.

I can't remember the players, but back a few years ago I sold cards to the granddaughters of two baseball players from the 50s.
    STAY HEALTHY!

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.

I believe bob molinaro lives in florida, near boca raton if it's the same guy.. ran into his brother in a pool and he told me he lived nearby......as for me, a guy comes up to me in a show here in ny about 20 years ago and wants to buy all my FRANK TEPEDINO cards.. since he was a yankee, i had him in yankee boxes and sold him 3 cards for 50 cents.. told him it was cheap as he was a scrub......he then told me that HE WAS FRANK TEPEDINO.....looked so diff..lol.. gave him money back and then got his auto on a ball... just a regular guy from the neighborhood.....I felt like an AASSSS.

I've had quite a few players and/or family members contact me with regard to their 1977 Topps Mexican Football cards. Most recently Gregg Bingman and Robert Woods. The funniest was Eric Torkelson's college girlfriend who inquired as to why Eric's card was worth so much. I explained that it was short printed and difficult to find. She replied "Eric wasn't the slightest bit 'short' and it was quite easy to find" I nearly laughed my azz off. I figure the woman had to be pushing her mid 50's now, so it was even funnier.

    I've sold the following:

Multiple boxing magazines with Greg Page on the cover to his second wife
A Kellogg's card of Don Gullett to Don Gullett
Multiple Jim Nash cards to Jim Nash (he said he gives them away to little kids that he meets)
A Scotty Bowman card to Scotty Bowman
A Jim Pagliaro (spelling may be wrong) card to a relative
A Dick Radatz card to his daughter

This isn't a card to a relative, but I've sold some 57-58 Topps Basketball cards to Keith Olbermann. Maybe someone should start a thread about selling cards to famous people.

Well the buyer would live in that area and shares the same middle initial as the MLB player - so I'd say 99.999% chance its the same guy.
