The '58 Type 2 is extremely rare in FBL. Flykite, the seller, is very knowledgeable about Franklins.

is the type 2 aspect visible on the auction pic

Yes it's definitely a type 2 eagle.

He should try to show a closeup though.

The TPG's don't recognize the '58 and '59 T1 & 2. If and when they start doing this then the rarity of the '58 T2 FBL could be realized eventually.

maybe the pics are not doing the coin justice but based on the pics
of the obv it is missing the eye appeal i would expect from a 65.

but then the coin is special for other reasons.

are we sure this is not a mechanical error like last time? cough cough

Hard to tell from the crappy pics, but the eagle on the reverse looks like it's from a Proof. I'll bet that coin is hard to find, but I'll bet there's more than 3 of them and I'll bet it won't sell at that price!

I'm sure it is more than three out there but it really is difficult to find a '58 T2 with decent bell lines. Most are really mushy and worn away. Here's a pic of mine and this is how the bell lines look on the majority of them.
