Good Day, Actually NOT True, they didn't credit anything, Period, and also will not let me contact or see my Sold items. I in fact had a couple of dozen Auctions end last night just prior to and just after there NARU action. Several Buyers have sent me E-Mail's through the E-Bay system asking me WTF? I can not even answer them as E-bay will not allow me to answer anything and I don't have their real E-mail only the contact through E-bay. I just got off the phone with them (E-Bay) to at least try and rectify this situation and they told me to go pound sand. So on top of everything else, even if this does get resolved in a few days or whatever, I will get pounded by Buyer's with Negs for not communicating with them as well. And although I can't see anymore I believe I won two items last night as well before this happened, so I will get those Negs as well. Just gets better and better. Whatever happens, its time to move on........Any ideas? Thanks Neil

Ebay needs someone else in the market because right now they pretty much have a monopoly on online buying/selling.

While it certainly sucks for Neil based on the ridiculous situation in which he got the neg, I think it's great that ebay is going after people for trying to give revenge negs. If I neg a guy a neg for non-delivery or whatever, I don't want him coming back and hitting BIN on 20 of my auctions only to leave me 20 negs. The fact that there is a safeguard in place to stop this from happening is beneficial to the responsible ebayers out there.

I absolutely agree, but ebays actions were a bit swift here. He was not even the high bidder on the item, so he would not have won it. For their scheme to work properly, they should wait until someone actually leaves the retaliatory neg instead of assuming that is the intention.

Yup.
It is really one of the few pro-seller moves that EBAY has made in a long time.
It is especially effective on situations that are not directly related to dutymon's deal.
The circumvention of BBLs was a problem for a long time. Even if a seller could "prove" that a buyer was using multiple-IDs to mess with the seller, EBAY used to be reluctant to act. NOW, they act fast.
Lorrie Norrington has been pumping this as a major benefit to sellers.

That is logical in a "legal" sense, but there is a valid reason not to wait.
The policy is not ONLY designed to prevent bogus-NEGs. It is also meant to prevent NPBs and other types of "interference."
By waiting for the bad act to be completed, EBAY would be allowing the general interference to go unchecked and would lose money when the "sale" ultimately failed.
Folks Who Bite Get Bitten. Folks Who Don't Bite Get Eaten.
This sounds like quite a situation. I have luckily dodged all negatives on my way to just over a 900 feedback rating and that has been quite a task with a few terrible buyers like you've had. On the volume of sales you have done over the years (much, much more than me), it is amazing that you have avoided a negative and one or two would not hurt your reputation. Even though I personally have not been in your situation, I'm sure that many of us can relate to how mad you were when you saw your first negative on a previously untattered feedback record that you have worked hard for and earned over the course of many years. While I am sure I would not have bid on this person's auction due to such a fear of being NARU'd, I think eBay's action was a bit harsh considering both your volume and previous years of perfect standing.
Ultimately, I think you will get your account back when speaking to the right person - I can't see how they would keep such an asset to the selling community out for such a minor infraction (as you stated, you weren't even the high bidder). I'm sorry you had to deal with such a situation and wish you luck - hopefully things will turn out well for your situation.

This happened last year or the year before to someone here as well.
That case was a little different in that the 'buyer' emailed the 'seller' and asked if the 'seller' would end the auction early. The 'seller' declined so the 'buyer' tried to place a bid and was blocked. He then went to his other account and won the item. When I got kicked out of my apartment (not for doing anything wrong - the landlord wanted to expand) I was horrified and thought my life had ended. Turns out I was able to score a great deal on a foreclosure and I made mega$$$ buying a steal from an out of town bank...
When my partner retired and made me re-incorporate in my own name I was scared and angry. I'd never owned my own company before and wanted everything to stay the way it was. That year, for doing the same amount of work, I increased my take home by about $30,000...
When the industry I'm in changed and I lost some of my biggest clients, I freaked out. Turns out it was the best thing for my practice because I now do mostly specialty work which I'm good at and I leave the bottom-feeding to the losers in the field and let them fight over the crumbs....

eBay's rules prohibit bidding with no intent to complete the transaction. On any communication, insist that you would have completed the transaction. If they want to know what feedback you would have left, tell them you would have left whatever he deserved. You can't now know what that would be, because you don't know how he would have packaged it, whether he described it accurately, and how quickly he would have shipped it.
