Is there a point when you can be sure coins will not spot in their holders?

Due to some serious issues I have had with silver coins spotting, I am nolonger collecting modern silver coins that have been graded. Is there a length of time that one can say with good confidence that a coin will most likely not spot in its holder?

Until I can figure that out, gold coins are my friends. If they spot, they can always be fixed by PCGS right?

Unless you know the coin's prior environment (slabbed or otherwise), you really can't know.

Considering that the milk spotting is thought to orginate at the mint. And the fact that what causes it to show up on some and not on other coins is not known.

I would say no there is no point that you can say it will not happen no matter where it is located.
