who has built a buffalo nickel grading set?
I've got several Buffalo nickels in MS65 and MS66 and a few in Fine and XF. Figure I might as well build a Fine thru mint state grading set.
What would be some good parameters to set up?
Problems arise when I consider quality of strike, years, and mints.
Should I stick to strong strike examples? Include weakly struck examples?
Does ANACS, NGC or PCGS grade that much differently?
I want to liimit the set to no more than twenty.

I thought about doing this also. To keep it cheap I would go with either the 1913 type 1 or the 1938-D.
Whatever you decide on I would stick to only one year .

If you stick with the years above, most of these coins can be found well struck.

All three of those are good companies IMHO, but even within any one TPG there will be differences.
I think they all do a good job with the common dates, its when you get into the 20's coins ,branch mint and around the vf range.
If I did a set I would stick with one TPG.
