BAM!

Sure it was expensive. Sure, the sum of the parts will never equal the value of the box. Yeah, we are in a financial recession. SO WHAT? This ranks about as high on the "coolness" scale as anything I have ever owned!
Im fortunate enough to live about 35 minutes from BBCE, and was able to go buy this at their warehouse. WOW! It was like a time machine had transported me back to my youth. I truly felt like a kid in a candystore. 1988 Fleer basketball is by far and away the most aesthetically beautiful set of sportscards I have ever seen. Toss in a healthy dose of major HOFers and even a few HOF RCs and you have a recipie for success.

I called my brother (who was also a collector back when we were kids) and told him the 1st thing I need to do now is buy a complete set FAST! That way I wont be as tempted to tear into this thing. I plan on keeping this box as is for a loooong time.

I opened a box of these a couple years ago that I saved for so loooooooong too.
The fact that I already have about 5 or 6 complete sets made NO difference

I bet theres 1 huge difference between us though. Im not even an "active" card collector anymore. I sold all my stuff when I went to college back in '93 and never looked back. So I dont have any urge to find PSA 10's and whatnot....probably wouldnt even know one if I saw it!
Congrats!!
Even though I'm still an active collector, I have yet to sub any of those cards. I just busted them. YUM
<< <i>Does anyone know if you get a set, two sets, no sets out of a typical box? >>
You should get about 3 full sets and some extras from a box that hasnt been "played" with.

BTW, are you east or west of BBCE? I'm in Lakeview. Wish BBCE would open up a little retail wing to their place.
