microscope photography question... is .3 megapixels enough?

I've got an AMscope binocular microscope and just LOVE it.

I spoke to their CS and I can add a .3 megapixel camera for $89.00.

I have my camera to shoot slabs and 2X2 and get great images, but finer details are lacking.

I want to shoot for DDO'/DDR and VAM's for the web and maybe to print 4X6 images for reference.

Is the .3 megapixels enough or should I go higher megapixels?

The .3 is going to be fine for doing vamming. What x is your scope?

Just as a consideration, I hold my Nikon L12 to the eyepiece
and it works just fine. You could save the $89??

    Currently I'm using 10X.

My understanding the camera is 20X and 60X

0.3 isn't ideal. That translates into 640 x 480. There will be significantly more detail in the image than a 640 x 480 CCD will record (at all but the highest mags).

Should be able to do significantly better for not too much more.
