Does he still sacrifice live chickens to Jobu before each game?

Ron, I made absolute certain he would be on my fantasy BB team, well before the draft I had him pencilied in as a must have, I got him in the 6th round which might have been a little early but I expect big things from him this year in that Phillies lineup.
  • One of the nicest guys you'll ever meet too. Always talked to the media here in Seattle even when they were losing, so he talked a lot here. Defensively he'll say is good, and in fact isn't that bad, but he doesn't have much speed to run down balls in the gap. Great bat though.
  • He's truly a quality hitter and never seems to have long, drawn out slumps. He's a defensive liability now (not a knock on the guy, he just can't track balls down anymore) and would have been best suited DHing in the AL. I give him props, though, getting that $30 million deal was wonderful for him. And the comments about his off the field persona seem to be legit - I've never heard anyone have anything unkind to say about Raul.

I think that title belongs to Garret Anderson, but both are quiet unsung heroes.

Ibanez has been an RBI machine over the last 6 or so years and G.Anderson seems like a good comp until you look at the difference in hits...Anderson has nearly 2400 and Ibanez has 1000 less mainly due to Ibanez's late bloomer status. He didn't become a full-time player until 2002 when he was already 30 so statistically it's actually these guys

I'm proud to have him on my fantasy team.

  • Ibanez is a hip hop head from what I remember. He used to come out to Blackstar's (Mos Def and Talib Kweli) Definition as his batting music when he was with Seattle. That's a relatively underground track compared to most of the pop tunes you hear.

that guy has been around a while. I remember that name from back when I cared about baseball and bought baseball cards.

When is his RC, like 96 or something?
  • he is a great fantasy stud; i got him late in 2 leagues. and he is flourishing with a strong Philly lineup.

as for Garret Anderson; sadly his best days are behind him. He WAS the best player nobody outside of Anaheim didnt know about.
