To rip or not to rip......UPDATE: Ripping

I should know better than to ask this question here, but I have a small unopened pack collection sitting here that is starting to eat away at my will to preserve them in their current unopened virgin state. I was thinking about getting them slabbed at some point, but not really sure if that is worth doing for more than a couple of these. So here I sit debating whether to rip or not. It's a rainy day outside today, and the box of SPX I cracked earlier only scatched part of my itch to rip. So what are your thoughts, leave as is, rip them all, or save certain packs to slab and rip the rest. Let's hear it.

I can't believe you even asked that question! LOL Now, if you were talking about packs that were each 10 - 15 years older, that's a different question. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO,
RIP AWAY MY FRIEND
RIP AWAY!
LMAO!
And be sure to post the results!!!

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
I dont think any of those packs are worth too much so the resell value isnt too high . Although there are alot of nice packs there its
just not worth having packs slabbed unless they are 75's and earlier . Of course its just my opinion .
Good luck with whatever you decide.
Always looking for Chipper Jones cards.
Im a very focused collector of cards from 1909 - 2012...LOL
Let the ripping begin. Scans to follow.
Good luck!
If you happen to rip a 79 #318 Bob Welch that is PSA 9 worthy let me know.

Between it and my Puckett rookie that I pulled from a pack, I thought I was hot stuff in the late '80s (age 4 or 5).
edited to add:
I love that card...and I don't know why. I need to update it severely, but I'll never get shed of this one.
a RC and a Pete LaC@ck sighting:
and the lone HOF'er out of '82 Fleer:
<< <i>I had the wrong year on the Hockey. It's 79-80 Topps. Nobody I've heard of in the pack. Are there any low pop cards I should look for? Nice looking cards though:
WOW! I just looked it up and saw that there are only 25 "10s" out of 7,428 cards graded!

<< <i>I'll take a PSA 1 of either of the chicks in Brian's sigline. >>
Bill, It's 80 and sunny here at my place...Getting ready to put the kids in the stroller and walk to the beach. I will look for one of them for you. Do you want a blonde or brunette?

<< <i>Some very crisp '81 Fleers. Definitely some upgrades for the set I have.
Very nice, I really like the early 80's Fleer cards. Good luck!

I'll trade ya Pete LaC@ck for a brunette.
Good thing my wife isn't here.
And it must be Goose Gossage day. I've been thinking about starting a TTM project. Definitely alot of possibilities to TTM for Goose now, LOL:

<< <i>Don ... you made me go upstairs and pull out another '84 FB pack to rip. The best thing in it was the 25 year old gum! LOL

Doug - I've got a '84 Topps FB GAI 9 pack sitting over here as well. I may rip that yet.
<< <i>This has been a fun rip thus far. Esp. the middle 80s stuff. >>
Thanks. I'm glad you are enjoying it. I'm having a blast!
Did you pull any minty Gantner cards?
It was alot of fun and a trip down memory lane. I remember ripping almost all of these as a kid.
<< <i>Looks like you're having fun. Thanks for sharing!
Did you pull any minty Gantner cards?
Gumby, just checked again and no Gantner cards. Sorry.
<< <i>Gumby, just checked again and no Gantner cards. Sorry. >>
Well, if you didn't pull any, you might want to talk to the person who sold you those packs. They must have been searched and resealed.
Thanks for checking!
Oh...please count this as 1 vote to rip that 84 Topps pack. Free those babies from their waxy tomb!
