What is the deal with all these good cards going to completion?!?!?! I had a major HIGH SNIPE on this bad boy, that was equal to what the last one went for through Memory Lane......is this a new trend???

Nice card with a minor tilt. I am sure he got a very nice offer and was probably afraid that given the economy it may not finish where it should.

When someone ends an auction early I do not consider it a poof. When eBay pulls the auction and the item number is no longer valid it is a poof.

What i have been doing is putting a small initial bid right away with the same max bid then coming in at the end with the snipe bid.

I agree with that - times have changed so ya gotta change with it...get aggressive and make offers if ya really want a card...I know I have learned to do that over the past few months.

I think people are fighting fire with fire in regards to ebay. Ending auctions early on higher dollar items to avoid massive ebay fees are going to be more and more common as the economy struggles and/or people are just tired of getting fleeced by the endless fees on Ebay.

A PSA 6 is around $1,200, and a PSA 7 is around $2,000.

PS - I found out the reason he closed it. I can't fault him, because he gave his word to someone else that he would sell it to him (a neighbor). I just hope the neighbor isn't ripping him off, because that might be a several thousand dollar mistake on his part.

Bobby, if there's a card you REALLY want on eBay, you HAVE to make an offer. It's as simple as that. If you don't, and the auction is ended early, you only have yourself to blame. Like it or not, this is just the way it is with eBay, and it's not gonna change.

On second thought it is very possible that someone lists something on ebay
then sells it to a neighbor. It is after all allowed by ebay to end auctions early.
It belonhs to the seller until he sells it.

The item was offered to a whale that some of are aware of. The person it was offered to took their time in responding (as this whale often does). Once the item was posted, the whale contacted the seller and they completed the deal. There was nothing shady about it and it wasn't a "neighbor."

Anyone that wants to point fingers or make accusations needs to know the facts before they open their mouths!!!

I have made several high dollar deals that were finalized through BINs with a best offer, my main sticking point was I was to be paid "off-Ebay" and paid via pay-pal for "goods"
