From the CRO Road Report-- it seems like fresh coins are strong

LongacreLongacre Posts: 16,717 ✭✭✭
I was taking a look at the CRO Road Report and the writer notes that fresh coins are strong. Do we have any live reports from collectors yet?

Hopefully Stacks get their mailing list in order.

I haven't bid or bought from them in years, emailed and called twice to remove my name from their mailing list, and I still get catalogs from them (which go right in the garbage, unopened).

(edited to add Stacks reference, since Longacre changed the title to confuse everyone)

should we be sarcastically discussing the term fresh in this thread
and what it means now days in this fast pace world of collectors flipping
coins like they change their underwear?

I don't think anybody is intending any sarcasm.
In regards to underwear...keep it clean!

He was probably just trying to keep the thread "fresh".

BTW, I love replying to "fresh" threads... image

FRESH Not made available to the general marketplace in the previous 5 years...and ideally in >10 years. Though I could still see a coin that traded privately between 2 consenting individuals being called fresh the first time it hit the general marketplace in >5 yrs. Coins that have been flipped or auctioned multiple times need not apply.

UBER FRESH Coins that haven't left the safe deposit box or the home safe in >10 yrs.

Everybody knows fresh coins are better because 5 or 10 years ago, nobody bought cleaned or overgraded coins for their collections and unlike coins which have been on the market recently, fresh coins are all above average for their grade. image

I just smiled, since I don't have the personal experience with the product as Barndog does... I had to look up what Massengil really was! image

Sorry Barndog... maybe that was a bit TOO fresh image

At this time, coins have got to be fresh and almost

at the next higher grade to get top dollar. Take this

into account when buying because the dealers are sure

making the same determination, before they bid or buy a coin.
