I'm guessing 58?
That said, the only thing that concerns me (and it may just be the photo) is an apparent lack of luster. While I won't reveal the grade, I do wonder if that's not why it didn't grade even higher!
Regardless, I really like the coin and the look, and I hope you enjoy it!
Looks like a Bear to Photograph...
Try another set of pics....I WANT MORE!
<< <i>As you know, a tough coin to find nice, much less attractively toned nice. I like the look and what a nice strike too!

I like the look too as I've been looking at these for 3 years in XF45 and up and this one captivated me.
It has luster just I couldn't get the color to pop... took close to 50 images just to find 3-4 that where usable.
I'll post the grade below as this isn't a guess the grade thread.

As far as more images... I've tossed in the towel for today!
Edited, my avatar also matches the date.
<< <i>Very nice, great strike and color....and ORIGINAL, as far as I can tell. Powerfully struck star centers...which I really like, nice hair above the eye too. Good pickup. I have a sneeking suspicion that I have seen it before. I would be proud to own it! >>
Thanx!
<< <i>That has a good look and is one of my favorite dates. 5 coins with this date.

Look at my showcase, it has 18 of my Half Eagles between 1834 and 1838. All different varieties.
