I would imagine they are setting aside proof dollars for that but I could be wrong. I imagine it will be one or another not both. You may be right it may be the uncirculated in that set.
Waiting List Notice: The number of orders we have taken meets the maximum limit for the 2009 Abraham Lincoln Commemorative Uncirculated Silver Dollar. The email I received yesterday states they expect to ship mine on 4/3/09...

Hmmmm? What if some of us are collectors? I have 100 of the Uncs and Proofs. I do live for this BTW - Did you see the nice 1868 Indian I got from Rick Snow?

Just what I've always wanted...to be on the Mint's waiting list to buy some MS-63 Lincoln Dollars that were returned to the Mint by flippers and cherry-pickers who considered them rejects!

At least now, they only have 7 days to make a decision and the return...of course, some of them go through 100 in a day and return them because they "aren't a 70".

I already ordered, I was just checking to see if the status had changed. Yesterday when I tried to add to cart I got the wait list notice, today I did not get the notice.

60 years into this hobby and I'm still working on my Lincoln set!
So, what was the total mintage? 250,000 of each? I thought they always sold any amount of either Proof or UNC, until the total (500k) was met. If this is true, how can UNC be sold out, and Proof still available???
It is not an equal amount. My guess is 150,000 uncirculated, 300,000 proofs and 50,000 for the 5 piece set later this summer. There are not many proofs left either.
<< <i>It is not an equal amount. My guess is 150,000 uncirculated, 300,000 proofs and 50,000 for the 5 piece set later this summer. There are not many proofs left either. >>
There again I could be off by a few thousand either way.
My partner and I have upwards of 400 2009 Lincoln Silver Dollars coming. 70% of them were ordered at the lower price - I think some orders are likely to be cancelled or there was something wrong with them as they were ordered in mid February and I have zero of them so far.
It kind of looks like only about 130,000 uncirculated were minted and probably 320,000 proofs. Won't this create a shortfall on the amount of coins available uncirculated? There is not that high an amount of 70's graded either.
I have to admit I'm not particularly happy with the strike of my Lincoln uncirc; it is rather wavy and uneven, so that the cartwheel is unappealing and on the reverse the letters on the device vary in depth. I was going to send it back for another, but now I see that it is probably pointless to do so.
Salute the automobile: The greatest anti-pollution device in human history! (Just think of city streets clogged with a hundred thousand horses each generating 15 lbs of manure every day...)
Based on the UHR non-FIFO order fulfillment experience, if you really want more of the Lincoln Uncs, wait a couple more days before ordering. That way your order will be way down on the list and get filled first by the PBGS dolts!!!
<< <i>I thought they always sold any amount of either Proof or UNC, until the total (500k) was met. If this is true, how can UNC be sold out, and Proof still available??? >>
Especially with 50,000 proofs reserved for the LN6 set?
I was able to order one of each of the UNC and PROOF versions last night after reading all the posts, before it was too late. Shipping is estimated for April 3rd.
Today, only the PROOF version is available.
Today, the Braille Commemoratives were available. Keeping this set current with one of each type is all I care to do.

Why would they pay to return them when there is a willing market for them on ebay?

One uncirculated has just been bid up to $157. You can still get them for $109.95 with a cashback besides.

Just buy one of the 70's online and you will get a perfect coin. You can sell the one you have and not have it cost you too much.
