    Welcome, Ocho!

The dark roasted coffee is brewing as I speak. Do you prefer creamed, sugared, or black?

Anyone with a cool forum handle like OchoReales is going to be a neat guy with whom to share the hobby. Welcome to the fun. Post some point and shoot (or better) digital pics of your pirate treasure. I just love those old pillar dollars!

  • Finally learning how to photog my coins. I hope to start posting pics in the near future. I just saw the 1770 Potosi 4 reales that sold on CoinRaritiesOnline site. I wonder who picked up that jewel?!? Anyone on the boards?????

  • What can I tell you Roman, I've been a collector for 33 years now and in 2004, I decided to focus on Bolivia as my bride is originally from La Paz. I have been buying only the best that I can find and that is not so easy with Potosi coinage, as you probably already know! Lima, Bogota, Mexico City and even Santiago coinage can be found in higher grades than their Bolivian counterparts. Makes for a great hunt though!

  • I just wanted to thank everyone who welcomed me! Why is it though that when I hit 'Reply' to the individual posts on this thread, that the posts that I am replying to do not show up? Help!!!

If you move the blue scroll bar on the far right side of your screen (if you're using Windows anyway) down, it should scroll through any/all of the previous posts that are on the same page as the post that you're replying to.

There may also be a way to change the settings in that "customize" box up above, so that you can see more than one page of posts when you scroll down, but I'm not techie enough to have figured that out yet. image

Hey there OchoReales. Pop into your profiles page and enable Private Messages (PM's). You'll find that a tool that forum members use PM pretty regular to say hi.

  • Thanks for all the warm welcomes to the board. I actually lurked for 6 years. Please don't ask why I took so long, I don't have a good answer but had the opportunity to build a very nice Potosi collection during that time so, all was worth it! Was that run on or what?!?
