  How much are the counterfeiters making off you with these?

  I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

  I'm not that good with words, but porosity & transferrence are a couple of things I see with my eyes.
  The transfer of flaws from the original coin which indicates a cast copy most likely... and "pot metal". Not copper/nickel clad but some cheap alloy.

  I paid a grand total of $3.00 + $1.25 shipping so I'm not gonna go broke but I think its funny that they're counterfeiting the most beloved of all the Country's coinage!
  
  How do you tell if they are counterfeit?
  
  Simple, the fields have a grainy look to them from the casting sand. This coin is not only a cheap knock off but it was cheaply made. I would venture to say South America since they've been counterfeiting Sacagawea's down there for years. Maybe they started with IKE's? Besides, I think the Chinese would have done a much better job!
  
  Look at the rim where the field and rim meet. With a cast counterfeit, there is always crud left in this area. Even the poorest of US Mint strikes comes together more cleanly than this.
  
  On the last photo you can see where the edge was filed off to possibly eliminate some casting flash and smooth the coin out for that "circulated" look.
  
  And no, it's not a 1971-S/S or any particular variety at all. I checked.

  I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.
