Sherry Magie Error T206 -- Images ? Real ?
hey guys,
this is my first topic here. I have been around for awhile and would like everyone's opinion on this card. I picked it up because I was part of an old collection and it was worth a chance.
Anyone think this is real or fake? here are my scans below

thanks in advance

Nice card, you print it on a cannon or xerox?
I scanned using my HP all in one
Yeah, I am big error collector but never purchased anything be 1951.
This was my first chance so I guess I should have checked with you guys first!

"Common sense is the best distributed commodity in the world, for every man is convinced that he is well supplied with it"
Heres a little info on the card from Scot Reader's book on t-206s 3rd edition:
Sherry Magee was a mainstay in the Philadelphia Phillies outfield for many years and a
terrific power hitter, cracking the National League’s top 10 in slugging percentage in
11 different seasons. Despite his prowess at the plate, Factory 25 misspelled his
name “Magie” on the portrait version of his card as initially released. The error was
soon corrected, as reflected in the far more common Magee (Portrait).
Magie has so far only surfaced with the Piedmont 150 back. The number of known
specimens is thought to reside in the neighborhood of 100 to 200.
Also, for your knowledge in the future, I won't tell you publicly so scammers don't know, but the font that the card displays is not the type of printing font they used in that era. It did not exist (the one on your card) yet.

The "error" has nothing to do with the high value. It's because he was a Philadelphia Phillies ballplayer and those cards are always in very high demand.
<< <i>You have been around for less than a month if you consider that a while.

Seen the OP talking about numerous E/V cards. Mentioned bidding one of these awhile back. I doubt/hope he's not a scammer fishing.
richtree- contact me for info on what to look for in a real vs. fake T206. Was this the card you were bidding on in the end of Jan. ? Was it on ebay? Sellers name? Curious if the seller is trying to slip fakes in lots.
And to answer your question about PSA and cutouts....unsure. I know BGS grades the 2006 Gordon cutout. Unsure if either company recognizes the DiMaggio.
It wasn't in good condidtion either
I will get this card eventually right now isn't the time for 4,000 out of pocket
I am going to keep this card so one day I have a real error, real corrected, and fake verison....lol
thanks for the help
